A Matter Of Trust – The Bridge To Russia is een bijzondere terugblik op een historisch moment in de carrière van Billy Joel. In 1987 maakte Joel een bijzondere concertreis naar de Sovjet-Unie en trad hij op in Moskou en Leningrad. In een periode waarin de spanningen van de Koude Oorlog nog volop aanwezig waren, was het optreden van een grote Amerikaanse artiest in de Sovjet-Unie een opmerkelijke gebeurtenis. Voor Billy Joel had deze tour bovendien een diepe persoonlijke betekenis.
Deze Deluxe Edition brengt de muziek en het verhaal van die historische tour uitgebreid samen. De 2CD bevat de volledige liveshow, met in totaal 27 live- en rehearsal-opnamen, waaronder bekende Billy Joel-klassiekers als Pressure, Allentown, Honesty, A Matter of Trust, Only the Good Die Young, Uptown Girl, Big Shot en Piano Man. Daarnaast bevat de set diverse nummers die niet eerder op deze manier waren uitgebracht.
De bijgevoegde DVD maakt de collectie compleet met de documentaire A Matter of Trust – The Bridge to Russia, waarin de bijzondere Sovjettour uit 1987 opnieuw wordt belicht. Naast interviews en historische beelden zijn er uitgebreide concertfragmenten te zien, waaronder Prelude / Angry Young Man, Allentown, Goodnight Saigon, Baby Grand, Honesty, A Matter of Trust, Uptown Girl en Back in the U.S.S.R.
